The Office of Academic Affairs at the TU Darmstadt handles enrolments and admissions, withdrawal from the university and leave of absence, re-registration and fees for all departments. That makes it your main contact for all formal and regulatory questions about your studies. The website of the Office of Academic Affairs provides information about studying at the TU Darmstadt. The staff of the Office of Academic Affairs will gladly provide information on the application process. The Office of Academic Affairs is located at karo5 at the Innenstadt Campus (Building S1|01).

Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek (ULB) – University and State Library

The University and State Library (ULB) is located in the castle in the city centre and is open daily from 8:00 am to 2:00 am (Sundays too). Students and staff have access to over 1.7 million print editions of books and magazines, over 195,000 items in audio and visual media, and over 121,000 items in digital media. For more information, please refer to the ULB website.

The ULB also offers a useful introduction for information research in Mechanical Engineering. Here you will find textbooks, eBooks, catalogues, databases, new material, contact persons, news, training sessions and more.

Foreign Student Affairs Office

The Foreign Student Affairs Office is responsible for

  • counselling
  • applications
  • admissions and
  • enrolment

of applicants with foreign qualifications for university entrance who wish to complete a degree at the TU Darmstadt. Information about studying at the TU Darmstadt is available on thewebsite.

The TU Darmstadt is not a member of ASSIST; please submit all applications to us directly via the online applications.

Zentrales Prüfungssekretariat – Central Examinations Office

From 15 February, 2010, the MechCenter will assume responsibility for the administration of bachelor examinations (study programmes: Mechanical and Process Engineering; B.Ed. Metal Processing) and the Vordiplom Mechanical Engineering

The Central Examinations Office will be dissolved.
