iMMC visits the PTW
07.04.2026
We were delighted to welcome Diederik Coppitters from UCLouvain to PTW for an inspiring exchange on resilient energy systems. A particular highlight was his talk, “When the optimum is not enough: designing energy systems for an unpredictable world,” in which he introduced the iMMC approach and shared valuable perspectives on designing for uncertainty.
Beyond the lecture, the visit was a great opportunity to strengthen collaboration: we finalized a DFG proposal together and visited Digital Resilience Xchange (DiReX) and the MetalEnergyHub to discuss ongoing research and future synergies.
What stood out to us:
- Inspiring insights into robust energy system design under uncertainty
- Productive collaboration on our joint DFG proposal
- Valuable exchange with colleagues at Digital Resilience Xchange (DiReX) , including Dr. Elisa Berg, and at the MetalEnergyHub, including Dr.-Ing. Marius Schmidt
- Strong momentum for future interdisciplinary cooperation
Thank you, Diederik, for the visit and the inspiring discussions. We look forward to continuing the collaboration!
