Lecture series „ A new security culture for Industrie 4.0“

This event is no longer offered since the winter semester 2018/2019!

This Lecture will no longer be offered from winter semester 2018/2019

In the lecture series “A new security culture for Industrie 4.0”, experts from Engineering, Informatics, Law and Politics give insight into a topic currently highly debated called “Industrie 4.0” (Industry 4.0). This ambitious project aims for a “fourth industrial revolution”, a stronger computerization of the classical industries, for instance production and automation. It is strongly related to the notion of the Industrial Internet.

Such a broad and profound technological change has implications on social, juridical and political issues. Furthermore, information security becomes a central topic, as computer systems become more deeply embedded, more widely distributed and more thoroughly inter-connected. During the course, all these aspects will be discussed by a number of lecturers from many points of views, with a strong focus on the perspective of the industry, as the focal point of this endeavor.

Learning targets

  • Understanding of the technical, societal and political challenges of Industrie 4.0
  • Understanding of the approaches for the introduction of Industrie 4.0 from the industry’s perspective
  • Knowledge about technologies and methods for security and safety for industrial systems
  • Knowledge about means for know-how protection in Industrie 4.0

The lecture is for students of the following study programmes:

  • Master-Studiengang Mechanical and Process Engineering
  • Bachelor-Studiengang Computational Mechanical and Process Engineering
  • Diplom-/Master-Studiengang Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen Fachrichtung Maschinenbau (Wi-MB)

Language of the lecture

The lecture will be held in German.
