Engineer your Future Day 2024

Your future: Who cares?! We do!

Once a year, we invite you – our Bachelor's and Master's students – to the ‘Engineer Your Future Day’ student fair. Come along and learn more about your opportunities in and after the Bachelor's programme, as a Master's student and graduate in a relaxed atmosphere. At the last EYFD, we were able to win former astronaut Thomas Reiter as our anchor man. It will be interesting to see what we have planned for next year…

Engineer Your Future Day on 1 July 2025 is all about your next steps in your studies and career. Whether you are a student with a passion for technology, studying mechanical engineering at TU Darmstadt or another university, or interested in a Master's programme with us, you can expect exciting insights into current research – from autonomous vehicle technology and smart materials to AI in production.

Get to know our institutes, meet lecturers and students, experience the mechanical engineering ecosystem at TU Darmstadt live – and find out how you can actively shape your future as an engineer.

Our Engineer Your Future Day offers students the opportunity to take a close look at the next steps in their studies and beyond, to find out about opportunities to study at TU Darmstadt or abroad, and to talk to the MechCenter, other students, alumni and professors. We want to offer our students and interested pupils a framework in which it is fun to take their future into their own hands.

Engineer Your Future Day will take place on 26 June 2024 from 14:00 to 18:30 in the foyer, lecture hall 201 and seminar room 4 in the University Media Centre (HMZ, L4|02) at Campus Lichtwiese.

All institutes of the Department of Mechanical Engineering will be presenting themselves at the fair. Academic staff will be on hand to answer questions. In addition to the institutes, the ESA, alumni, Highest, MechCenter, the TU Writing Centre and the TU Carrier Service will also be presenting themselves.

From our point of view, it is an absolute highlight that Thomas Reiter, a former astronaut, will give the keynote speech from 14-14:45 in lecture theatre 201 ❤️ We are also very much looking forward to the good coffee and soft drinks at the mechanical engineering bar. ☕

Some of the contributions and panel discussions will be held in German, others in English. In the programme overview, the German contributions are marked with (DE) and the English ones with (EN).

The event is aimed at our Bachelor's and Master's students of all mechanical engineering degree programmes and interdisciplinary degree programmes. In addition, the event is also exclusively aimed at pupils in science courses in and around Darmstadt.

Participation in the fair is free of charge. For all students and teachers: Please register in advance. We have planned an extra programme for you, including a guided tour of the specialist areas. Click here to register.
