Integrated process monitoring is the basic prerequisite for reliable process control in forming technology. The accessibility of the processes is crucial for the information content of the sensor data. Optical sensor technology offers the advantages of contactless, spatially resolved recording of process variables directly on the tool or workpiece. The core objective of the task at hand is therefore the design of a tool-integrated multi-fibre optical fibre concept for the analysis of process parameters during deep drawing.

The following work packages are planned for this purpose:

  • Research into existing optical monitoring concepts for processes that are difficult to access
  • Construction and commissioning of a multi-fibre optical fibre concept
  • Interpreting and analysing the results and tracing them back to process conditions
  • Scientific documentation of the results
