We are pleased to announce that Jannick Erhard, former Master student and current PhD student at RSM, has been awarded the prestigious SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation Prize for Students 2023.

This prize recognises exceptional scientific achievements and their contribution to the development of sustainable technologies. At the award ceremony, Jannick was presented with the award by Prof Sigmar Wittig, former Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR).

Jannick's master's thesis entitled ‘Development and test of a laser absorption spectrometer for the quantitative measurement of hydrogen in energy conversion systems’ was supervised by M. Sc. Philip Linke and Dr Steven Wagner. The work makes an important contribution to research into hydrogen technologies and their application in the field of energy conversion. Jannick's measuring system can, for instance, be used to determine hydrogen concentrations in fuel cells or gas turbines with minimal invasiveness.

TheSEW-EURODRIVE foundation has set itself the task of promoting young scientists. With its study prize, it supports young talents in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and economics and sets an example for excellent research.

We at the RSM are proud to have such a talented researcher with us and look forward to the further successes of Jannick Erhard and other young scientists. Further on Jannick's current research can be found under the following link Jannick's Research
