EUMETSAT is a European organization located in Darmstadt delivering real-time weather, climate, and environmental data from space. Together with EUMETSAT, the TU Darmstadt offer a three-day summer school for interested students in autumn.
Students will gain practical insights into satellite remote sensing – from specialist lectures by experts to a hands-on training block and a visit to the EUMETSAT Satellite Control Centre. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their own ideas, discuss current challenges in remote sensing and make valuable contacts. The whole event is rounded off with an evening event that offers opportunities for exchange and networking.
Topics:
- Preparation of remote sensing missions
- Remote Sensing Instruments and Platforms
- Climate monitoring
- Applications: clouds & aerosols, ocean, atmospheric chemistry and fire detection
- Web-based training on
- Meteosat-Third Generation (MTG) satellite system
