The 8th International Conference on Through-Life Engineering Services (TES) took place in Cleveland, Ohio, USA between 27th and 29th October. The DiK was represented by Mr. Vladimir Kutscher, who presented the research results of the project “Software-Factory 4.0”.
The topics of the conference covered different aspects of the use phase of a product and the associated services, such as maintenance. In addition to the TES basics and technologies, papers on the planning, management, design and manufacture of high-quality products were presented. In particular, the future technologies such as Industry 4.0, IoT, Digital Twins, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence played an important role and were discussed in many presentations.
Mr. Kutscher presented a paper which shows the extension of the Digital Twin of a CNC-controlled machine tool by the embedded software in the machine, by means of which the behaviour of the Digital Twin can be further approximated to the physical machine.
