Project Description – We are looking for an interested and enthusiastic student assistant for a project dealing with part deformation and geometric tolerance analysis. This project will investigate on the new approaches and methods for tolerance analysis and understanding the changes in geometrical part deformation during the manufacturing processes. The results of this research have significant implications for companies involved in manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace industries, for example, companies that are seeking to manage geometrical deviations of parts throughout the product life cycle.

Responsibilities:​

  • Conducting literature reviews to gather existing knowledge and relevant studies in the field of part deformation and geometric tolerance analysis
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programming algorithms and simulations to analyze part deformation and geometrical changes
  • Designing and modeling the parts for simulation and analysis purposes using Siemens NX
  • Collaborate to document findings and contribute to technical reports and research papers
  • Provide support in various research-related tasks as needed

Requirements:​

  • Good knowledge of CAD design, e.g. Siemens NX
  • Knowledge of programming languages relevant for technical simulations (e.g. C++, Python, MATLAB)
  • Good knowledge of German and English
