18th CIRP CAT 2024 Conference in Huddersfield, UK
2024/08/12
The 18th CIRP Conference on Computer-Aided Tolerancing (CAT), held from June 26-28, 2024, at the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, brought together researchers and experts from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in the fields of tolerancing and metrology.
Arian Ayati, a member of our research team, presented his research paper titled “Understanding the Relations Between Part Deviations and Part Deformations for Tolerance Analysis – An Ontology-Based Approach”. His research focused on the interaction and interconnection of geometrical part deviations that may occur during manufacturing processes and the subsequent deformations that can develop during operational use. By proposing a novel ontology, his work provides a structured and knowledge-driven approach to bridging the gap between these two critical phenomena, offering a more comprehensive approach to tolerance analysis.
The CIRP CAT conference, held every two years, serves as a key platform for the exchange of innovative ideas, methodologies, and technologies that address the challenges posed in the field of tolerancing.
