2025/08/21

IDEEA – International Design and Engineering Education Association – is an international association of universities and companies with the aim of advancing education and research on the challenges of future technologies in the fields of mobility, product development, and Industry 4.0.
At this year's IDEEA Annual Forum in Seoul, South Korea, around 150 representatives from industry, science, and students took the opportunity to engage in scientific exchange. A special highlight was the presentation of prototypes created as part of the international Design Thinking study project. This project is being carried out in cooperation with over 40 universities from South America, Europe, and Asia.
Working in teams spread across three continents and numerous time zones, the students used distributed working methods and went through the phases of research, definition, ideation, making, and testing. Each team then presented its specific solution for the vehicle interior design of the future to an international jury from industry and science.
The team from the Institute for Product Life Cycle Management at TU Darmstadt, consisting of three master's students, developed an innovative concept for an interior design with photochromic elements and presented it successfully.
The department congratulates the students on their participation and greatly appreciates their hard work and commitment!
