The installation of Siemens NX software on several PCs is generally possible. Firstly, a responsible person must register on the website. It is then necessary to independently document on which devices the software has been installed. It is also important to ensure that the licence agreement is adhered to.

Siemens NX

Once you have successfully registered and logged in, you will find the licence agreement in the menu, which you must confirm, and instructions on how to install Siemens NX. The instructions can be found in the FAQ under ‘click here’.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact the person responsible for the PLCM licence.

If the error message ‘Connection to licence server machine failed’ appears when installing Siemens NX, the following solutions are available:

1. Run the installation with the default licence address 29000@localhost.

2. Start the ‘Tool – Licensing Tool’ from Siemens, which should be installed on your computer. You can find it as usual via the Windows search.

3. In the ‘Licensing Tool’, under ‘Environment Settings’, set the correct licence address for the student licence. Siemens NX should then run.

If this does not work, open your computer's system environment variables. You can also find these via Windows Search.

Then click on ‘Environment Variables’.

The variable ‘SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER’ should be created in the system variables. If not, add it. The value should be the current licence address of the student licence. Siemens NX should then work.
