Michael Giese studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt until 2023, graduating with a Master of Science degree. As part of his studies, he completed a year abroad at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA, which is a partner university of TU Darmstadt. In his master's thesis, Mr. Giese developed a concept for more sustainable production in which smartwatches are connected to an IoT platform and the data can be analyzed in real time.

Since November 2023, Mr. Giese has been working as a research assistant at the Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) department at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Mr. Giese supervises the lecture “computer-aided design” and the associated exercise, in which students are trained in the field of 3D CAD.

The lecture teaches 3D CAD techniques (Siemens PLM Software NX), the basics of product management (Teamcenter) and procedures for creating hand-drawn sketches and technical product documentation.
