Computer Aided Design (CAD)

The constructional education of students of mechanical engineering orientated fields of study is held as a required course completely with the help of modern 3D-CAD-Systems at the TU Darmstadt since 1995.

Location: On premise

Time: Monday from 13:30 to 15:10

Semester: Summer Semester

Start: 28.04.2025

Last lecture: 23.06.2025

Last exercise: 23.07.2025

TUCaN-registration for the examination: Until 14.05.2025

Registration for the exercise: Until 28.04.2025

Accompanying a one-hour lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. B. Schleich, there are supervised exercises and tutorials of three semester hours per week. In these exercises, there are also three examination sections in which you can collect the necessary points to pass the subject. Your grade is then determined on the basis of the points achieved during the semester.

In addition to the focus on 3D CAD techniques (Siemens PLM Software NX), the content of the entire course also includes the basics of product data management (Teamcenter) as well as the creation of hand sketches and technical product documentation. In addition, students learn the elementary DIN/ISO standards and gain experience in team-oriented work, which is important for modern engineers, through the group-based processing of tasks. All teaching materials and information required for the training are made available to the students in digital form Moodle. The processing of all exercises takes place in the pool rooms of the PLCM.

Participation requires registration via the group selection in Moodle.
