Computer pools in the Gehrhard Pahl Center

The Iim provides students with access authorization a working environment that supports them during their studies. With the approximately 160 pool room computers, the IiM provides an exercise facility for the various courses of study with access authorization at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. Students receive an access authorization when taking a course that uses the working environment of the IiM under the responsibility of a professor.

The computing environment at the Gerhard Pahl Center is a client/server environment. You work on a client that provides its computing capacity for running applications and your data produced in the process is stored on a server that provides the corresponding hard disk capacity.

Each user is provided with a personal login with which they can log in and work on any Windows client in the environment. This account includes a personal home directory, with limited disk space corresponding to its course.

The applications available to the user are divided into general and specific applications corresponding to the course.
