Definition of a Ground Truth for Free Space Detection using Data from HD-Maps
Masterthesis
An accurate collection an interpretation of the data plays a central role for the development of driving assistance systems. HD-Maps provide detailed information about the road infrastructure, traffic rules and geometric properties. In order to evaluate and train driving functions, a ground truth is necessary to verify the algorithms. The goals of this work are:
- Literature research on the topics of HD-Maps and free space detection
- Development of an approach to generate ground truth using HD-Maps
- Validation of the approach in real scenarios
- Verification using our testing vehicle (a Mercedes-Benz Actros)
