Schädigungsprognose beim Rollformen – Potenziale und Grenzen numerischer Modelle
Damage prediction in roll forming – potentials and limits of numerical models
Masterthesis, Bachelorthesis
When roll forming high-strength steels, cracks or damage can occur in the material during the forming process – which is bad for component quality and process reliability. Numerical damage models are used in simulation to recognise this at an early stage.
In this project, you will look at different models, compare them with each other and find out which one is best suited for roll forming. The aim is to predict as realistically as possible when and where it will become critical in the component – before it is even produced.
What you can learn and take away from the thesis:
- You will work on a highly topical subject with direct relevance to industry.
- You will learn how to use modern simulation tools and modelling methods.
- You will gain insights into a real research project at the PtU.
- You will gain valuable experience regarding material behavior and process simulation.
