Untersuchung thermischer Trägheitsphänomenen bei der experimentellen Bestimmung von Wärmeübergangskoeffizienten

Analysis of inertial phenomena affecting the experimental determination of interfacial heat transfer coefficients

Masterthesis, Bachelorthesis

Wherever large temperature differences occur at contact surfaces, heat transfer plays a critical role — for example, in hot forming processes where heated components are inserted into cold tools and formed. The interfacial heat transfer coefficient (IHTC) describes this process in numerical simulations and must be determined experimentally. Accurate IHTC determination is essential for realistic simulation results. The aim of this work is to analyze thermal inertial phenomena in the experimental determination of the IHTC. The insights gained will improve the accuracy of experimental determination.

The following work packages are planned:

  • Review of the state of the art
  • Identification of inertial phenomena
  • Compensation of the identified inertial phenomena through analytical and numerical approaches
  • Documentation of results

The specific tasks can be adapted individually.
