Aufbau einer automatisierten Auswerteroutine für numerische Strömungssimulationen von Turbomaschinen
Development of an Automated Evaluation Routine for Numerical Flow Simulations of Turbomachinery
Bachelorthesis
Background
At the Institute for Gas Turbines and Aerospace Propulsion, high-resolution computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations are performed to investigate the behaviour of high-pressure turbine stages under realistic operating conditions. The focus is on questions relating to aerothermal loading and the influencing factors of unsteady flow phenomena from the combustion chamber. Various methods and tools are currently used to analyse the extensive simulation data. However, in order to ensure uniform, reproducible and easily adaptable evaluation, Python-based routines for turbomachinery applications are to be developed as part of this work.
Tasks
- Familiarisation with the software and literature research
- Development of a modular evaluation routine for examining turbomachinery CFD simulations
- Performing numerical flow simulations of selected test cases with Ansys CFX and Fluent
- Evaluation and interpretation of the results using the developed evaluation routine
- Documentation and presentation of results
