2025/06/05

Mechanical engineering graduate and CPS master's student Johanna Wiegand was awarded the 2024 Study Prize by the SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation.

On May 16, 2025, the SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation honored 18 outstanding graduates from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with the 2024 Study Awards for exceptional academic work. Congratulations to Johanna Wiegand for being one of the recipients of the award!

Ms. Wiegand graduated from her M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at TU Darmstadt in 2024. She received the award for her academic achievements, including her outstanding master thesis, which was supervised by Prof. Oliver Weeger of the Cyber-Physical Simulation institute. In her thesis, which was carried out at CDH AG in Ingolstadt, she developed a “Simulation-based comparison of Human Body Models and ATD-Dummys in reclined positions regarding kinematic and injury mechanisms in frontal crashs”. The elaborate work of Ms. Wiegand lead to detailed insights into potential adaptions to test protocols for crash simulations with human body models.
