3D-Scans at PLCM

With the newly acquired Artec Eva 3D scanner, it is now possible to easily 3D scan people and objects at the PLCM. In future, the scanner will be used to easily transfer real objects into the virtual world. This process is useful, for example, for the visualisation of prototypes in AR or VR, reverse engineering and for research into the spatial understanding of AI.

We learnt how to use the scanner and the associated software in a training course and, of course, made our first scans. We are already looking forward to integrating the scanner into our research.
