Participation in the 6th Workshop of the European Group of Research in Tolerancing (EGRT)
2025/07/01

On June 11–12, 2025, the research field of Tolerancing Informatics at the Institute for Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) participated in the 6th Workshop of the European Group of Research in Tolerancing (EGRT), hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in Italy.
This international workshop brought together leading research groups from five European countries to share their current work and investigations in the field of tolerancing. Prof. Benjamin Schleich and two of his research associates attended the workshop on behalf of PLCM and contributed to the scientific exchange and collaborative discussions.
?The PLCM also provided a presentation about their ongoing projects in the field of Tolerancing Informatics:
- Arian Ayati introduced the Def@ShapeCAT project, which focuses on the integration of manufacturing deviations and operational deformations into shape-aware tolerance analysis.
- Timo Ackermann presented the WiToPro project, which addresses tolerance allocation and function-oriented process design based on process knowledge, which is gained within the project.
The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for scientific exchange while strengthening collaborations within the European tolerancing community. We extend our thanks to Prof. Giovanni Moroni and the organizing team at Politecnico di Milano for hosting this inspiring workshop.
