ARP: Recherche zum Thema Rollformen

ARP: Literature research on the subject of roll forming

Advanced Research Project (ARP)

Roll forming is a continuous cold forming process that is characterized by high resource efficiency and productivity due to its high process speeds and up to 100% material utilization. This is also reflected in the widespread use of the roll forming process.

The aim of this ARP is to compile and summarize an overview of current scientific literature on the roll forming process.

Among other things, literature on the following questions is to be researched:

  • What should be considered in the design of roll forming processes?
  • What error patterns occur in roll-formed profiles and what countermeasures can be taken?
  • What are the limits of the roll forming process in terms of achievable geometry and processable materials?
  • What is the CO2 footprint of the roll forming process?
  • How can accurate FE models be achieved?
