Weiterentwicklung eines Simulationsmodells zur Verbindungsbildung beim elektromagnetischen Pulsschweißen (EMPS)
Further development of a simulation model for joint formation during electromagnetic pulse welding (EMPW)
Masterthesis, Advanced Design Project (ADP)
In order to counteract climate change and the scarcity of resources, functional lightweight construction involving multi-material construction is gaining in importance. This is used, for example, in electromobility and aerospace. A major challenge here is the safe joining of dissimilar materials, e.g. aluminium and steel.
One possible solution is collision welding. In collision welding, the joining partners are joined by plastic deformation by colliding with each other through a relative movement. The aim of this work is to further develop a simulation model for the EMPW in order to map the formation of connections based on real data. The work packages of the scientific work are
- Development of an evaluation method to determine velocity-collision angle curves in the simulation.
- Further development of the simulation to identify welded and non-welded areas.
A personal meeting can be arranged to discuss further details.
Also approved for aerospace engineering.
