Innovative Umformverfahren in der Automobilproduktion: Spaltprofilbiegen für Batteriekästen von Elektrofahrzeugen

Innovative Forming Processes in Automotive Production: Split-Profile Bending for Battery Housings of Electric Vehicles

Masterthesis, Bachelorthesis, Advanced Design Project (ADP)

The innovative production process linear flow splitting enables the resource-saving production of branched profiles from flat sheet metal. Due to their geometry and production-related properties, these sheets are ideal for use in the automotive industry and other transportation applications.

Due to its high flexibility, the tool system used for this purpose is not trivial to adjust and operate. A large number of input and output variables must be monitored and optimised. The aim of this work is to determine the process limits of gap profile bending in order to manufacture a battery box for an electric vehicle. The main focus is on establishing a connection between the component geometry and the machine data.

At the beginning of the work, possible demonstrator geometries are developed and designed on the basis of preliminary work. This is followed by work on the automated slit profiling system and with various measuring instruments.
