Immersed isogeometric analysis for finite deformation elasticity

In our latest publication in the “Archive of of Applied Mechanics”, we present an immersed isogeometric analysis approach with boundary conformal quadrature for finite deformation elasticity

Congratulations to our research associate Yusuf Elbadry on the publication of his article “Immersed isogeometric analysis with boundary conformal quadrature for finite deformation elasticity” in the Archive of Applied Mechanics!

In this work with Dr. Pablo Antolin from EPFL and Prof. Oliver Weeger, Yusuf adopts an innovative algorithm for boundary conformal quadrature for immersed isogeometric analysis of large deformation elasticity problems. The approach relies on a high-order B-spline re-parameterization of trimmed elements to eliminate the need for body conformal finite element mesh. The results show convergence with optimal rates in h-and k-refinement and demonstrating the efficiency, precision and robustness of the method.
