Successful retreat ends

2023/10/23 by

As every 2 years (except 2021, where we went in 2022 because of Corona), STFS and RSM had a week long retreat in Kleinwalsertal from October 9th to 13th.

We discussed a number of topics including renewable energy carriers such as hydrogen, ammonia, metals, our current status and the scientific challenges for the upcoming years. We had workshops on onboarding, science communication, diversity, and outreach to industry. There was a workshop on numerical methods and models for the experimentally working scientists at RSM and a complementary workshop on experimental methods for the numerically working scientists at STFS. We are now implementing the results in our daily work. Our administrative team also presented the operational procedures. The discussions always lasted until late in the evening and went seamlessly into further team building.

Last but not least, we also found time for a few hikes in the Kleinwalsertal, luckily the weather was on our side.

Preparing for the retreat is always a lot of work for everyone involved. However, once again it has been proven that this time is well invested for the science and the great team atmosphere. Special thanks go to Thomas Krenn and Vinzenz Schuh who did a fantastic job organizing the week.
