Over the past two days, I had the opportunity to experience the dynamics of the Metal Energy Carriers community firsthand at the International Symposium on Renewable Metal Fuels – ReMeF 2025, which was also the 3rd installment of the Metal-enabled Cycle of Renewable Energy (MeCRE) conference series. https://lnkd.in/ddVmxYgB

A big thank you for allowing me to deliver both a welcome address and a keynote speech. Participating in the panel discussion alongside Jeff Bergthorson, Michel Haller, Keena Trowell, Giulia Finotello, and Stefan Oberholzer was also a fantastic experience.

There is no doubt in my mind:

Metals as energy carriers will play a role in the future energy mix.

But it is up to us as researchers and innovative start-ups to demonstrate their relevance and potential—and to convince policymakers and stakeholders of their impact.

Many thanks to Mihaela Dudita and Michel Haller for making this event possible!
