The figure displays flow, combustion, and acoustics features in the Rolls-Royce Deutschland high-pressure test setup SCARLET (Scaled Acoustic Rig for Low Emission Technology). This configuration serves as validation case for novel numerical models to describe thermoacoustic instabilities. For hybrid CFD-CAA methods for thermoacoustics, the flow/combustion and acoustic domains are separated to use tailored numerics to different physics and scales.
